Gallery 57 West presents A Day of the Arts on Sunday, January 11, from 1–3 PM. Visitors are invited to enjoy live, in-gallery demonstrations by two featured artists, Kathy Strouss and Robert Neales, as they share their creative processes and unique techniques.
Kathy Strouss will demonstrate two batik techniques—a wax-and-watercolor process on Japanese rice paper and a “tape” batik using acrylics on Yupo.
Robert Neales will show how he transforms aluminum sheets into bold, dynamic works using layered inks and textures inspired by Africa, dance, sea life, people, and animals.
Works by Kathy and Robert—along with art from 21 other gallery artists—are on view at Gallery 57 West during winter hours, Wednesday through Monday, 11 AM–6 PM, and Sundays until 5 PM, or by appointment by calling 410-263-1300.
