A Day of Service & Remembrance in honor of the Annunciation Community
About this Event
At the heart of this day is a simple belief:
One meaningful way we can remember is by showing up for others and moving our feet.
Through acts of service and generosity, we will carry forward the love, courage and care that have surrounded the Annunciation community over the past year.
Together in partnership with local leaders Congresswoman Ilhan Omar, Rep. Emma Greenman, Council Member Jamison Whiting, with Sen. Zaynab Mohamed, Hennepin County Commissioner Marion Greene, Park Board Commissioner Kay Carvajal Moran, and School Board Member Lori Norvell
- Enjoy sambusas, churros, Somali tea and other beverages
- Donate school supplies for Mpls Public School students
- Donate and assemble care kit items to be given to Avenues for Youth for young people experiencing homelessness
- Volunteer to plant flowers and trees along the boulevard
School supplies needed:
- Pencils, pens, etc.
- Crayons and markers
- Backpacks
- Notebooks
- Highlighters
- Binders
- Water bottles
- Sticky notes
Care package items needed:
- Feminine hygiene products
- Decks of cards
- Stickers
- Fidget spinners
- Handwarmers
- Notebooks
