About this Event

This warm and reflective session gives parent carers an opportunity to explore what a typical day can really involve—for both themselves and their child or young person. Together, we will consider the visible and less visible parts of daily family life, including routines, transitions, sensory needs, emotional regulation, appointments, advocating, disrupted sleep and the constant planning that often happens behind the scenes.

The session offers a supportive space for parent carers to recognise the demands they manage, share experiences if they wish, and reflect on what might make everyday life feel more manageable. There is no expectation to disclose personal information, and every family’s experience is recognised as different.

Summary
A supportive session helping parent carers reflect on the realities of daily life, recognise the often hidden work involved in caring, and feel less alone in their experiences. Participants will have opportunities to share, connect and explore small, realistic ways to support their own and their child’s wellbeing.

This is a free training event for parent carers of children with additional needs and/or disabilities within North Somerset. This event is also open to professionals who work with children/young people with additional needs and/or disabilities in North Somerset. Priority on place allocation will be given based on the criteria above.
