Oldest Historic House and Garden tour in the nation. Celebrating 99 years. This year is the commemoration of the Great Strand Fire of 1824 in New Castle. Delaware Street will be lined with antique fire trucks, apparatus, artifacts, and firefighters. Open houses and gardens include the Strand houses and gardens rebuilt after the the fire in 1825. Fun family event including tours of the Kalmar Nyckel, Delaware's Tall Ship, at the Wharf. Children's games and activities, music, reenactors, food trucks and eating area on the Wharf, First Delaware Regiment, vendors and more. Tickets can be purchased online at historicnewcastle.com.
