A Crash Course In Independent Publishing
About this Event
Are you interested in learning how to become a full-time self-supporting author?
Want to see your name on best-seller lists around the world?
Have you always dreamed of seeing a book that you wrote on the shelves at your local bookshop or library, available for anyone to read?
Or maybe you dream of being published with one of the big traditional publishing houses but have discovered that the main way they're picking up books nowadays is by scooping up already successful independently published authors?
This three hour workshop will be delivered by George Penney, an internationally bestselling author of fiction and non-fiction, a twenty-year industry veteran who has been published both through Penguin Random House and independently, and the owner of Swashbuckler Press, an independent publishing company formerly based in London--now in Nelson, New Zealand.
It will provide you with a crash-course rundown on how to independently publish and distribute your novels, poems and short stories, using the same processes, editors, cover designers, and distribution techniques as the large publishing houses.
Participants will leave with a solid starter-foundation for establishing a successful publishing career.
