Gabriela Wiener es escritora y periodista peruana residente en Madrid. Ha publicado los libros Sexografías, Llamada perdida, Nueve Lunas, Huaco retrato, Dicen de mí y los poemarios Ejercicios para el endurecimiento del espíritu y Una pequeña fiesta llamada eternidad. Sus primeras historias se publicaron en la revista de periodismo narrativo Etiqueta Negra. Fue columnista del New York Times en español, redactora jefa de Marie Claire España y colaboradora en un gran número de medios internacionales. Publica semanalmente una columna para publico.es. Ganó el Premio Nacional de periodismo de su país con un reportaje sobre un caso de violencia de género. Es creadora de varias performances que ha puesto en escena junto a su familia. Escribió y protagonizó la obra de teatro Qué locura enamorarme yo de ti. Es parte de Sudakasa, proyecto colectivo de arte y escritura migrante. Undiscovered, la traducción al inglés de su novela Huaco retrato fue finalista del Booker Prize Internacional 2024 y del PEN América.

Gabriela Wiener is a Peruvian writer and journalist based in Madrid. She has published the books Sexografías, Llamada perdida, Nueve Lunas, Huaco retrato, Dicen de mí and the poetry collections Ejercicios para el endurecimiento del espíritu and Una pequeña fiesta llamada eternidad. Her first stories were published in the narrative journalism magazine Etiqueta Negra. She was a columnist for the New York Times in Spanish, editor-in-chief of Marie Claire Spain and a contributor to a large number of international media. She publishes a weekly column for publico.es. She won the National Journalism Award of her country with a report on a case of gender violence. She is the creator of several performances that she has staged with her family. She wrote and starred in the play Qué locura enamorarme yo de ti. She is part of Sudakasa, a collective project of migrant art and writing. Undiscovered, the English translation of her novel Huaco retrato was a finalist for the International Booker Prize 2024 and PEN America.

In conversation with Elena Martínez-Acacio Alonso, lecturer at University of Cambridge.

The interview will be followed by a Q&A. Open to Cambridge University students and the general public.
