About this Event
Overview
Join the Yale Club of San Francisco for an intimate evening with Akhil Reed Amar (BA '80, JD '84), one of the world's pre-eminent experts on the U.S. Constitution. Professor Amar teaches constitutional law in both Yale College and at Yale Law School, has been cited in four dozen Supreme Court cases (the most of any non-emeritus scholar), and regularly testifies in front of Congress at the invitation of both parties. He writes widely for popular publications including The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal, Time and The Atlantic, and his scholarship has been featured on many broadcasts ranging from The Colbert Report to Anderson Cooper 360 to Fareed Zakaria GPS. He hosts a weekly podcast, Amarica's Constitution. He will discuss recent Supreme Court decisions and how the Constitution intersects with the upcoming presidential election, and will share unique insights from his upcoming book Born Equal: America's Constitutional Conversation 1840-1920.
