Join us at the First Congregational United Church of Christ for an intriguing conversation focused on DC's affordable housing crisis. revitalizing our downtown area. Learn from experts in urban planning, community development, and local business as they share their insights and strategies. Professor Patrick Condon will be our speaker. Professor Condon has taught at the University of British Columbia since 1992. Recognizing the need for collaboration as a fundamental part of designing sustainable communities, Professor Condonhas pioneered public engagement methods. He has successfully focused attention on how to make systemic change in the way cities are built and operated, notably in his East Clayton project in Surrey, BC. More recently, he and his research partners collaborated with the City of North Vancouver to produce a 100-year plan to make the city carbon-neutral by 2107.
There will be time for questions and comments from the audience. The program will be in person and recorded. Light refreshments to follow.
The church is located at the corner of 10th & G Streets, N.W. -- between the Metro Center and Gallery Place Stations. Event parking is available in the building for a fee of $15; use 980 G Place, NW for Google or GPS directions to the garage entrance at the back of the building.
