Some of the most exciting rising stars of classical music and dance in Northeast Ohio will come together for “A Classical Cabaret in Collinwood”: a concert of music full of passion and rhythms.The program will feature music by Luigi Boccherini, Ludwig van Beethoven, Louis Moreau Gottschalk, Florence Price, Alfred Schnittke, and Darius Milhaud, . PLUS two world premiere performances.
The 1st is original choreography by Timour Bourtasenkov, Artistic Director of the Cleveland Ballet, featuring dancers of the Cleveland Ballet, to music by Alfred Schnittke.
The 2nd is a new suite inspired by Euclid Beach Park, Collinwood’s legendary amusement park, by award-winning composer Chris Neiner.
A fiberart exhibition by Jodi Kanter, M.U.S.i.C.’s Artistic Director and Saundra Bohl will be on display at Praxis for this event.
The performers include international prize winners, top soloists, chamber groups, and from Europe, Asia and right here in Collinwood, including:
Maria Beyens, Zachary Brandon, Maude Cloutier, and John Fawcett – violin; Jackson Naglick, Alexander Kostritsa, Chris Neiner, and Yuhang Wang – piano; Jack Kehrli - viola; Brendon Phelps – cello;
Jazmin Pascual – clarinet; Nathaniel Hill –guitar; Saundra Bohl, castanets
Presenter: M.U.S.i.C. has been bringing outstanding emerging world-class musicians to Northeast Ohio audiences for more 16 years. Its mission is to provide paid performance opportunities for music students and newly launched professionals, and to share the joy of classical music with new audiences.
