Atelier #1 : Exploration poétique et participative avec A Chorus in Motion (Belen Blizzard) + Tender Possibilities (Farhia Tato)

Nous explorerons la figure du bouffon en tant que personnage complexe se cachant derrière un masque, en naviguant entre humour et tragédie, sagesse cachée, critique sociale et vulnérabilité. Le bouffon est cette force souvent divertissante destinée à détourner l’attention du peuple de la terreur. Il subvertit la vérité et encourage ceux qui ont besoin de destruction ou qui la souhaitent. Cette force ou cet être semble très puissant en ce moment, car il renvoie également à l’expérience de la désillusion.

La désillusion est un processus continu qui consiste à démanteler ce que nous tenons pour vrai. Elle se manifeste dans nos horizons politiques, nos liens relationnels et notre compréhension de notre place dans le monde. Le bouffon nous fait entrer dans l’espace du désapprentissage ; cette figure brise les vérités désuètes et plonge dans l’espace troublant de l’inconnu.

Nous nous appuierons sur une sélection de poèmes en lien avec ces thèmes afin de tenter d’articuler et d’identifier cet être et cette force.

Educational workshop #1: A participatory poetry exploration with A Chorus in Motion (Belen Blizzard) + Tender Possibilities (Farhia Tato).

We will explore the jester as the complex character behind the mask, moving through the intersections of humor and tragedy, hidden wisdom, social critique and vulnerability. The jester is the often-entertaining force meant to distract the populace from the dread. The jester subverts truth and emboldens those needing and wishing for destruction. This force or being feels very powerful right now, as it also points towards the experience of disillusionment.

Disillusionment is a continuous process of undoing what we hold to be true. It manifests in our political horizons, our relational bonds, and our understanding of our place in the world. The jester ushers us into the space of unlearning; this figure breaks apart antiquated truths, and leaps into the troubling space of the unknown.

We will engage curated poems based on these themes as an attempt to articulate and identify this being and this force.

is a gathering of writers, thinkers, readers, poets, movers and dreamers. Our meetings fluctuate from a collective feeling of the world, sharing readings that move us, moving our bodies to reach towards, finding ways to be, together, through writing and motion. The circles have been on hiatus for a while, and might resurface in time. The chorus remains, in scattered form.

is a participatory poetry exploration and creative placemaking initiative. Each gathering offers a supportive and inclusive cultural experience that creates imaginative space for participants to not only read and be exposed to poetry, but to also locate themselves within the poetry. Through curated theme-inspired poems, participants are encouraged to listen, reflect, and respond, fostering deeper communal experiences, community building and exemplifies the enduring resonance of power, people and place.

is a psychological, physical, and virtual space to give voice to new ideas and creations.
