About this Event
Join us for a landmark evening celebrating two pioneers of Irish winemaking — David Llewellyn, crafting award-winning wines in Ireland, and Dermot Sugrue, the Irish-born winemaker behind some of England’s finest sparkling wines.
Guests will enjoy a guided tasting of three glasses of Lusca Vineyard and Sugrue South Downs wines, hosted in the historic Long Room at Trinity College Dublin, beneath Luke Jerram’s stunning Gaia installation, and receive a signed and numbered limited edition 37.5cl bottle of David's Award Winning 2021 Rondo red wine to take home.
The evening will be led by Harriet Tindal MW, Director of Fine Wine at Tindal Wine Merchants, and John Wilson, Irish Times wine correspondent. Together, they will interview David and Dermot and guide guests through a tasting of three of their award winning wines, exploring the stories, challenges, and triumphs behind each vintage.
This unique event brings together two remarkable journeys — from the vineyards of Dublin to the chalk slopes of Sussex — in a celebration of passion, craftsmanship, and the evolution of Irish wine.
