Lord of the HarvestOn the morning of the Resurrection, as Mary Magdalene fled the empty tomb, she encountered what she thought was a gardener. That is, until he spoke her name and revealed himself to be the Risen Christ. During our time together, we will paint the image of Christ, the Gardener and Lord of the Harvest. We’ll follow the traditional, step by step process of Byzantine iconography in a prayerful atmosphere.
No previous experience or innate talents are required. Come, learn to make a brushstroke your prayer and give yourself to an ancient way of proclaiming the gospel in color and lines.
We work Thursday evening after dinner, Friday evening after dinner, all day Saturday (9 am - 4 pm), and half-day Sunday (1 - 4 pm). There will be additional times available to work on a second icon for those who are interested. This is completely optional.
Fee: Single, $600 includes meals and lodging; Commuter, $400 includes 2 dinners and 1 lunch. Pre-registration required.
