A Black History Celebration: Birthland Fundraiser

Birthland Fundraiser Jazz Night

In celebration of Black History Month, Aster is sponsoring this event to raise funds for our Black birthing families in the east bay. Join us for an unforgettable evening of Black joy, featuring live jazz and great company! This special event is organized to honor and uplift the incredible work of Birthland, a midwifery practice led by midwives of color serving the East Bay birthing community.

Birthland is dedicated to providing compassionate, culturally responsive care to families during one of life’s most significant moments—childbirth. Our main fundraising goal for this event is to raise at least $8,500, which will cover the full cost of birth services for a Black birthing family at Birthland. Any additional proceeds will go toward supporting more families, ensuring safe, empowering, and equitable care for all.

Enjoy a lively atmosphere with live jazz by Gary Johnson Trio (@jazzbassjohnson) , drinks, and food available for purchase, as well as the warmth of a community united for an important cause. All proceeds will go directly to Birthland to support Black families in the East Bay.

• Each ticket includes 1 drink ticket
• This is a family-friendly event – children are welcome! Please add a free “Kid” ticket when registering, unless your child is a baby in arms.
• You can add an additional donation during ticket purchase to further support this vital cause.
