To celebrate the 30th anniversary of The Monastery Manchester, we invite you to experience a truly special, one-off performance that brings its remarkable story to life through song, sign and movement.Rise Up is a soulful and uplifting afternoon concert, telling the story of the Monastery’s transformation, from near ruin to the thriving community space and architectural treasure it is today. Through a moving blend of music and visual storytelling, this unique performance captures themes of hope, resilience and renewal.
Following their joint sold-out concert last year, Liz Taylor’s award-winning Do Your Thing Choirs reunite with the beautiful Hand Made Signing Choir, led by Paul Whittaker, OBE. Together, they create a powerful and inclusive experience, with narration and songs brought to life in British Sign Language (BSL), making the performance accessible and deeply engaging for all.
Expect an inspiring mix of pop classics, show tunes and more, performed within the breathtaking surroundings of the Great Nave – a setting that amplifies every note and emotion.
This unique concert is a celebration of community and creativity to honour one of Manchester’s most extraordinary stories.
