Welcome to Call of the Woods! We organise weekly walks for exchange students, foreign students and expats.
For our 9th hike (18 km) we will walk to the church in Krtiny. We will have 2 meeting points. At 9:50 we will meet you under the clock at the tram stop Hlavni nadrazi (opposite KFC), and take tram 8 at 10:01 in the direction of Lisen. We will get off at the final stop (Mifkova) at 10:19 where is the second meeting point. If you go to Mifkova by yourself, please be on time, because the group will start walking when we arrive there.
The route follows the meandering river through the valley of Marianske udoli. The main stop (lunch break) is at a pub after 9 km. (Bring some food yourself, because the service is questionable, CASH ONLY). After that, we will visit the Pekarna cave, which was inhabited in the Stone Age. After leaving the valley, we take to the fields and pass through the small village of Brezina.
The walk will finish in Krtiny. In that village, you can take your time to look around in the large church complex, which was built after a Maria sighting and which has been a pilgrimage destination since then. The church from the 18th century is on the national cultural heritage list and has an interesting ossuary.
From Krtiny, we will take bus 201 at 16:15 back to Brno (2 extra zones).
