Race on one of our fastest 5K courses! The course is all paved, and almost entirely flat. USATF Certified (VA-23105-RT).
? Time Schedule
7:00 a.m. – Race day registration and packet pickup at the First Colony Clubhouse pavilion, adjacent to the pool and parking areas
7:30 a.m. – CRR volunteers to report, to be ready for one mile fun run at 8:00 a.m.
8:00 a.m. – One mile fun run/walk start
8:30 a.m. – 5K run/5K walk start
9:45 a.m. – Awards ceremony
? The 5K at First Colony has been held eleven times previously as a Colonial Road Runners Grand Prix event, in 1998, 2010-11, and 2016-23. This year’s race will again benefit the Virginia Regional Ballet, Inc., a non-profit organization, to raise funds for a live orchestra for the December 2024 production of the “The Nutcracker” ballet, at the Ferguson Center for the Arts in Newport News.

◽ Race day registration begins at 7 a.m.
◽ Race-day registration shirts and sizes while supplies last. $20 fee for one mile.
◽ Online registration through 10:59 p.m. Friday, May 3.
◽ Registration may be dropped off at Virginia Regional Ballet, 1228 Richmond Road, Williamsburg, VA 23185 or 4839 George Washington Memorial Highway, Yorktown, VA 23692.
?️ Course
The First Colony 5K course is a flat and fast PR-type course, with just one slight downhill at the one-mile mark, to the scenic Lake Pasbehegh, and the equivalent slight uphill on the other side. It is a counterclockwise loop course of Pasbehegh, John Rolfe, The Maine, and Jordan’s Journey/Barrows Mount, starting and finishing on Pasbehegh, all on asphalt paved surfaces.
The course records are 15:20 by Rob Hinkle in 1998 and 19:02 by Emily Honeycutt in 2023.

???Awards
Top 3 overall men and women, top 3 men and women in the race walk division, and top 3 men and women in five-year age groups from 14-and-under through 70-and-over.

Bananas, bagels, apples, oranges, sports drinks and water in bottles.
? Directions
The First Colony Clubhouse is located at 125 Pasbehegh, off Route 5/John Tyler Highway.
◽ First entrance: Directions from Route 199. Turn onto John Tyler Highway /VA-Route 5, travel 3.8 miles to Greensprings Rd. Turn left onto Greensprings Rd. Travel 0.6 mile turn right on to The Maine travel 0.2 mile turn right onto Pasbehegh. The park/pool and clubhouse will be on the right side.
◽ Second entrance: Directions from Route 199. Turn onto John Tyler Highway/VA-Route 5, travel 4.0 miles to John Rolfe (this is the main entrance into the neighborhood). Travel down John Rolfe, to a left onto Pasbehegh, and follow Pasbehegh to the park/pool and clubhouse, which will be on the left side.
◽ Alternative from Jamestown Road: From Route 199, take Jamestown Road west to a right onto 4-H Club Road (after Jamestown 1607), then take a right onto Greensprings Road. Take a left onto The Maine, and travel 0.2 mile and turn right onto Pasbehegh, to the First Colony Clubhouse.
? Volunteers Needed
CRR finish line volunteers needed for Saturday's race at First Colony. Volunteers should report by 7:30 a.m. or so to the First Colony Clubhouse, to be ready for the one mile fun run at 8:00 a.m.
