9th Annual International Mariachi Women's Festival

The 9th Annual International Mariachi Women's Festival will celebrate the traditional, innovative and talented mariachi women of Guadalajara by featuring Mariachi Innovación Mexicana and Mariachi Femenil Nuevo Tecálitlan . They are the best in Mexico and will join the festival's headliners the two-time Grammy winning Mariachi Divas! It will be an incredible night!

Mariachi Innovación Mexicana is thrilled to perform in the U.S. for the first time at our festival and we are excited about this honor! While they love to perform traditional mariachi music, they became a world sensation when their mariachi rendition of Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody went viral. Since then, they have received invitations to perform at venues all over the world and have just arrived from two months of touring in Spain.

MIM was formed in established in 2009 by Mayra Soledad Casillas Garcia and Margarita Gómez with the intent to create a different kind of mariachi group. They did indeed! This mariachi group performs both traditional mariachi and incorporates diverse music and instruments. They have recorded two albums "te dejo ir" (2013) and "traviesa de amor" (2017). They have now toured in Spain twice (2019 )(2022). A treasured honor for this group was to be selected ambassadors for the city of Tlaquepaque.

Mariachi Femenil Nuevo Tecálitlan has established their reputation as one of the world’s best cultural performers. They have shared the stage with some of the greatest performers of our time such as Vicente Fernández, Marc Anthony, Mariachi Vargas de Tecalitlán, and Joan Sebastian to name a few. The group was founded by Ángel Martinez, director of Mariachi Nuevo Tecalitlán and is under the direction of Lupita Martinez, these young women have performed at festivals throughout Mexico and the United States and have even performed in London.

Mariachi Divas was formed in 1999 by Cindy Shea a trumpeter who studied with Latin Jazz and Classical trumpeter Arturo Sandoval, a protégé of the legendary jazz master Dizzy Gillespie. Cindy brought her music and industry expertise to mariachi music when she formed Mariachi Divas and today has earned 11 Grammy nominations and 2 American Grammy-award wins. In 2003, Mariachi Divas became the official mariachi of California's Disneyland Resort and Disney's Adventure Theme Park. She has produced 18 Mariachi Divas albums.
