Cancelled/Postponed - 9th Annual Gilroy Taco Crawl

Attn Crawlers,

I have some unfortunate news.

With the current Mask Requirements and Distancing restrictions still in place in Santa Clara County, we will be cancelling/postponing this year's Taco Crawl until 2022.

We wrestled with this for a while, but these current restrictions won't allow us to Crawl in the fashion that we are all used to.

All of the Taquerias have the mask and distancing signs on their doors. Super Taq and Pericos have tables spaced out and half blocked off. And Ameca is still a Food To Go Only window.

I know us Crawlers may feel safe with this group, but I would hate for the Taquerias to get fined, get bad press or potentially lose customers because of our large group during these times.

It's just not worth it.

So unless the restrictions are magically lifted before 10/1 (when we have to have our shirt order in by), we will be cancelling/postponing the Crawl until probably March or April of 2022.

I will officially send something out, and refund everyone's ticket/shirt entry around 10/1 (again, assuming the mask requirements and distancing restrictions aren't lifted).

And I'm planning to drink 2 Beers and have 2 Tacos at every place for Taco Crawl 2022!!!!

The 9th Annual Taco Crawl is Approaching!

For all you new Crawlers, here's the brief summary:

11 Taqueria's, 5 miles, 11 Taco's, 11+ beers, lots of Fun!

We meet at Taqueria Cancun in Gilroy before 9am. We all put on our Matching Shirts (Tee's or Tanks. Maroon this year!), grab our Koozies and take a large group picture. Then we go inside and start the crawl. We will walk to 11 taqueria's and have a Taco and a Beer at each place. The current taqueria list is...

Dont feel like you "need" to get a taco and a beer at every place. But if you are hardcore, you will take it all in (literally).We are going to try and keep each taqueria to 45 minutes, since we will have a pretty large group (last year we had 55 crawlers).

The price to Crawl is listed below and includes your Shirt, Beer Koozie and your donation only. You will have to pay for your own Taco's and Beers at each taqueria. If you eat/drink at every place, plan on spending around $100.00. And not every taqueria takes Credit Card, so have some cash. Last time we did this (2019), we raised over $1,300 which was donated to the Victims of the 2019 Garlic Festival Incident.

Please make your own vehicle arrangements. We will be starting at Taqueria Cancun next to Best Buy and ending at the El Grullense on 1st street. You are responsible to get yourself to and from the 1st and last stop. And please keep in mind that you may have consumed 11 beers during the duration of the day, so please be responsible when planning on leaving the last taqueria.

Note that the last day to order Tickets/Shirts is Friday, October 1st!!!
