Celebrating the 9th Annual Juneteenth in Historic Hannibal Square: "Knowing, Remembering, & Reclaiming Our Stories"- The event, commentates the ending of slavery in the United States on June 19, 1865. This year's panel discussion will have a special focus on the importance of reclaiming the narratives of Black communities and denouncing racial stereotypes.
Following the panel discussion will be the opening exhibition and
reception at the Hannibal Square Heritage Center from 2-4pm
See Through Our Eyes: Storytellers in Sanford and Eatonville
The panel discussion will include Dr. Trent Tomengo, artist, scholar and lecturer. Currently, a Professor of the Humanities at Seminole State College of Florida in Sanford.
