The Bear Hug Social is an annual event hosted by the Bioengineering Graduate Society (BEGS) where the department can gather together for an evening of dinner, drinks, and networking and to welcome new students to the UC San Diego Bioengineering community. It has become one of the largest annual gatherings of the department, with over 150 faculty, staff, alumni, postdocs and students attending the last in-person event in 2019.This year’s event will be held in-person. As per COVID-19 policies, all attendees will be expected to provide proof of vaccination or a recent (within the last 48 hours) negative COVID test for event participation. Masks will be required for indoor facilities.
