Artist Melanie Rose-Zagwyn, of Horizon Line Art, will be leading the Tatki Zome’ print making class. Tarik Zome’ is a Japanese art form where natural dyes are extracted from the flowers and leaves using a pounding technique. Colors are extracted and transferred directly from the plant onto a receiving surface. This technique
therefore allows each transferred print to be unique, often precisely mirroring the plant matter. We will also be direct printmaking with fauna. These techniques therefore allow each transferred print to be unique, often precisely mirroring the plant matter.
