Join us as we mark the date of six-year-old Neil Armstrong’s first airplane ride. On July 26, 1936, the Warren and Champion Township resident took his first flight from Warren Airways (now the site of First Flight Lunar Module) in a Ford Tri-Motor airplane (the Tin Goose). This sparked young Neil’s love of aviation.
Thirty-three years later on July 29, 1969, history was made when Astronaut Neil Armstrong made his first flight in the Apollo 11 Lunar Module and became the first man to walk on the Moon where he spoke the famous words, “That’s one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind.”
