909 Ecstatic is a dance journey offering a safe, inclusive and judgement-free space for freeform dance exploration to help cultivate wellness, authentic expression and community-building.We co-create an environment that is conversation-free (so we can drop into our bodies/dance), phone/camera-free (so we can feel safe to express openly), shoe-free and alcohol-free (so we can stay grounded) and where we respect others’ space (seek consent before dancing with others).

ECSTATIC DANCE FORMAT
6.30: Doors and warm-up music begins
6.45: Opening guidance (no circle)
6.50: Dance journey begins
8.20: Closing circle
8.30: Social time

MUSIC FORMAT
Music will start slow in the forms of ambient & downtempo and evolve into deep house & beyond. Towards the end of the journey, music will slow down giving the dancers the opportunity to wind down and stretch before we have a quick debrief as a community.This event is inspired by the Dance Wave Journey crew based in Nelson. We intend to host these regularly if well received!
