The City of Port St. Lucie invites the public to gather at the Memorial Fountain at the MIDFLORIDA Event Center, 9221 SE Event Center Place, for the 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony. We will reflect on the events of Sept. 11, 2001, and remember and honor those who lost their lives. The ceremony will offer a space for reflection, unite and tribute to our nation's heroes.
The ceremony will take place from 8:30-10:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 11.
This year’s program will feature remarks from Port St. Lucie Police Chief Leo Niemczyk and St. Lucie County Fire District Capt. Jason Kershanick. Port St. Lucie Mayor Shannon Martin will serve as master of ceremonies, with an invocation delivered by Port St. Lucie Police Department Chaplain Nick Manzie.
Participants in the ceremony include members of the St. Lucie County Fire District, Port St. Lucie Police Department and St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office.
Following the ceremony, guests are invited to gather inside the Event Center for light refreshments.
