Join the Rancho Cucamonga Fire District and Rancho Cucamonga Police Department as we commemorate the anniversary of September 11, 2001, at the upcoming 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony taking place on Sunday, September 11, 2022 beginning at 8:40 a.m. The ceremony will be held at Central Park's Freedom Courtyard, 11200 Base Line Road.The 9/11 terror attacks took the lives of 2,977 men, women, and children in New York City, Arlington, VA. And near Shanksville, PA. As a way to continue to honor their lives, the City of Rancho Cucamonga is building a 9/11 Memorial Park that will incorporate remnants from all three crash sites. The steel from the World Trade Center in New York City will be featured at this year's 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony, which will be permanently displayed at the 9/11 Memorial Park when it is built.
This 9/11 Memorial Park will need the entire community's support to come to fruition. Donations are now being accepted, and information on naming opportunities for amenities within the park will be forthcoming. To learn more about the 9/11 Memorial Park, visit CityofRC.us/911MemorialProject.
