National Public Lands Day is a celebration of the deep connection between people and nature, inspiring stewardship, volunteerism, and community care for the places we love. By participating in our Fun Run, you're not just enjoying the Violet Crown Trail; you're joining thousands across the country in celebrating and protecting the public lands that make outdoor adventures possible. Our annual Fun Run promotes health and well-being throughout our community while highlighting the interconnectivity of the VCT between neighborhoods, peaceful wooded areas, convenient urban amenities, and neighborhood parks.
About the Fun Run
The Violet Crown Trail Fun Run is an annual celebration of community, conservation, and outdoor recreation. This family-friendly, untimed event welcomes participants of all ages and abilities to run, walk, skip, and roll their way down the trail. It’s a favorite first run for many and a chance for friends, families, and neighbors to enjoy the outdoors together.
Finish Line Celebration
After crossing the finish line, attendees enjoy a community celebration featuring local businesses, nonprofit trail partners, activities, and opportunities to connect. Proceeds support the continued growth and stewardship of the Violet Crown Trail and Hill Country Conservancy’s mission to protect what makes the Hill Country special.
