We are excited to announce that registration is now open for the 8th Annual Dole VA Veteran Art Show, dedicated to showcasing the outstanding creativity of our Veteran community!
When: August 13 & 14, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Where: Dole VA Auditorium
Who: Open to the public – All are welcome as guests, but only Veterans may submit artwork.
Join us as we honor the artistic accomplishments and experiences of our Veterans! Come view diverse works of art and creative writing by our Veteran artists, with awards presented on August 14 at 3 p.m.
Veteran Participant Information
How to register:
Deadline: July 17th (By appointment only—no walk-ins.)
Contact Christina Vasquez at [email protected] or call 316-685-2221, ext. 54658 to schedule your registration appointment or to arrange for artwork drop-off.
Creative Writing entries may be submitted electronically. Please notify us well ahead of the deadline if you wish to participate this way.
Entry limits:
Each Veteran may submit up to 4 entries total, including up to 3 competitive entries in separate subcategories within a single division.
Participation is flexible: Veterans do not have to compete. All entries may be “just for show.”
NEW! Veterans may submit a collaborative piece with non-Veterans or unenrolled Veterans (age 18+) for noncompetitive display. A registered entry must have at least one enrolled Veteran artist.
Awards Ceremony will be held August 14th at 3 p.m., with pick-up of artwork immediately following.

NVCAF Competition Update:
The National Veterans Creative Arts Festival (NVCAF) now allows Veterans to upload entries directly (Feb 1 – March 15, 2027) to qualify for the November 2027 event. Please see the NVCAF website for full details.
This event is open for community viewing, but only Veterans may submit entries. Please help us spread the word to Veteran artists who may wish to participate!
