About this Event

The Gillian Reny Stepping Strong Center for Trauma Innovation is proud to present the 8th Annual Trauma Research and Innovation Symposium, being held on November 6, 2025, at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and virtually. This year’s theme, Post-Acute Care and Rehabilitation for Traumatic Injury, will focus on strategies to advance post-acute care and rehabilitation, optimize functional outcomes, and integrate innovative therapies to enhance long-term quality of life for trauma survivors.

The event will begin with Stepping Strong Breakthrough Award finalist presentations and provide an opportunity for audience members to contribute to the selection of the 2025 Stepping Strong Breakthrough Awardee. After the presentations, there will be a panel discussion consisting of leaders in trauma rehabilitation and recovery, followed by a keynote presentation highlighting the future direction of rehabilitation medicine. The symposium will conclude with a reception.

All are welcome to attend, with special encouragement for researchers and clinical leaders from fields such as trauma, emergency medicine, reconstruction, plastic and orthopaedic surgery, vascular, bioengineering, injury prevention, basic science, public health, policy, and community-based organizations.
