Gilda’s Club Middle Tennessee’s Songwriter’s Night brings together local talent to share their original songs and stories in an intimate setting at The Reserve at Fat Bottom Brewing in West Nashville.
Attendees have the opportunity to witness the creative process firsthand as songwriters share anecdotes and perform their songs in an authentic and unfiltered manner. This event not only celebrates Nashville’s deep-rooted music culture but also fosters connections between artists and audiences, echoing the inclusive and supportive nature of the Gilda’s Club Community.
This year’s lineup features an exciting mix of talent, including Chris Sligh, Cameron Bedell, and Emily Landis.
Cameron Bedell is a Nashville-based singer, songwriter, and producer whose music blends modern country with the soul and storytelling traditions of Americana. Originally from Wichita, Kansas, Bedell moved to Nashville to attend Belmont University and quickly found his footing in the city’s songwriting community, developing a reputation for deeply personal lyrics and melodies that live comfortably between country, folk, and soul.
As a songwriter, Bedell has built an impressive catalog with songs recorded by artists including Dylan Scott, Chris Lane, Lauren Alaina, Josh Ross, Nate Smith, Seaforth, and Hailey Whitters. He is also a co-writer of Jimmie Allen’s chart-topping hit “Down Home,” a song that resonated widely for its heartfelt look at family, memory, and small-town roots.
Chris Sligh is a songwriter and producer from Springfield, Tennessee whose work has quietly become a staple across modern country and roots-leaning music. With more than 200 cuts to his name, Sligh has contributed to over ten Billboard Top 25 hits and multiple No. 1 songs across different formats as both a writer and producer—an achievement that reflects not only his consistency, but his ability to craft songs that resonate with both artists and audiences.
His songs have been recorded by artists such as Rascal Flatts, Bailey Zimmerman, Josh Ross, Nate Smith, Austin Giorgio, and Mary Kutter, among many others. Whether working with established chart-toppers or emerging voices, Sligh has developed a reputation for helping artists find songs that feel both personal and commercially impactful.
Originally from St. Louis and a graduate of Belmont University, Emily Landis is a CMA nominated hit songwriter currently signed to BMG Nashville. Emily's first big success was with Gabby Barrett's "The Good Ones" which spent three straight weeks at Number One and is now certified 5x platinum.
The song was nominated for Song Of The Year and Single Of The Year at the 55th annual CMA Awards, Country Song Of The Year at the 2022 iHeartRadio Awards, and was voted Favorite Country Song at the 2021 American Music Awards. Following the success of “The Good Ones”, Landis received two Music Row Award nominations for “Breakthrough Songwriter of the Year” and “Female Songwriter of the Year”. In September 2023, Landis received her first #1 song at Canadian country radio with Mackenzie Porter’s “Chasing Tornadoes”. Landis has had songs recorded by Sheryl Crow, Lauren Watkins, Dylan Scott, Ashley Cooke, Lauren Alaina, Avery Anna, and more.
Johnny Clawson is a Nashville-based songwriter and artist from Leesburg, Virginia. Signed to SMACK Songs in 2022, Johnny co-wrote Blake Shelton’s No. 1 single “Texas,” which had a record-breaking radio debut and was named one of the 10 Songs I Wish I’d Written by the Nashville Songwriters Association International — an honor that led him to perform it on the legendary Ryman Auditorium stage. He also co-wrote Ella Langley’s No. 1 hit single “weren’t for the wind,” which landed Top 20 on the Billboard Hot 100 and Top 5 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs charts. Johnny recently won Breakthrough Songwriter of the Year at the 2025 MusicRow Awards and was nominated for Song of the Year at the 2025 CMA Awards for his song “Texas.” Other credits include tracks by Billy Currington, Walker Hayes, Jon Pardi, McCoy Moore, Chris Young, Josh Ross, Tanner Usrey, Clayton Mullen, Seaforth, Ava Hall, and more.
