8th Annual Buddies, Books & Brunch: A Celebration of Black History

Welcome to Buddies, Books & Brunch: A Celebration of Black History!

We are thrilled to present the first high school edition of this event in 2025! This year, our focus will be on buddies sharing their career, entrepreneurial, vocational, and college experiences with students. Each classroom will feature a panel of volunteers who will engage with students and inspire them with their stories. The day will culminate in a special guest speaker at our assembly, followed by a networking brunch where our guests can connect and celebrate.

The goal of this event is to connect students with your life experiences and to raise money to purchase books written by Black authors. When you register, your donation go towards buying books for the campus.

You will receive your t-shirt the morning of the event during check-in so you can wear it the day of the event.

Throughout February, students will participate in various activities to honor Black History, and this year, we’re taking it to the next level with more interactive, community-focused experiences!

How You Can Support: We are offering three donation tiers to support this year's event and the purchase of books for our students:

Roots Supporter - $20 Donation:

• Receive a free event t-shirt (pick up on event morning)
• Get a social media shout-out thanking you for your support!

Legacy Builder - $50 Donation:

• Includes Tier 1 benefits
• Plus, receive a photo highlight in our event program booklet!
• Plus, your brunch ticket is on us!

Powerful Visionary - $100 Donation:

• Includes Tier 2 benefits
• Plus, receive a custom plaque as a special token of appreciation!

Brunch Tickets: This year, we are offering an option to purchase a brunch ticket for $15. The brunch will be catered by Chef Ryan of The Brunch Bus—a local favorite known for his amazing flavors. This will be a great opportunity to network and enjoy delicious food while supporting our event.
