Artist Bios:
Morgan Phillips (she/her) is a movement artist from Arizona specializing in contemporary dance. Her movement style is influenced by ballet, martial arts, and aerial arts. She is a freelance performer in Salt Lake City performing contemporary and pole dance.
Leslie Jara (she/her) is the Artistic Director for Allegiant Dance Crew. Their mission is to empower and bring dance to new and current underrepresented dance students (especially those in low income communities) through unity, culture, family, inclusion, growth mindset, and an enjoyable experience. They provide a safe space for training, practice, exploration, self-expression, and growth to dancers who were turned away from collegiate and/or professional dance teams, and for dancers to feel comfortable and confident in their own bodies.
Soph Cardinal (they/them) is a queer and non-binary dancer, educator and choreographer who has recently relocated from Los Angeles, CA to Salt Lake City. They are currently obtaining MFA in Modern Dance from the University of Utah, focusing their research on how to cultivate inclusive and equitable spaces to explore movement within dance pedagogy and choreographic processes. Drawing from contemporary and hip hop dance forms, their choreographic works utilizes collaboration to place identity and selfhood at the forefront of creative processes.
Franky DeMartino (she/her) is the creator of Allium Movers, a pop-up collaborative troupe of independent dancers. She is currently a full-time dance instructor, performer, and choreographer who is interested in fostering community, producing intimate performances, and exploring the human psyche.
LeGrande Lolo (he/him) is a multiracial, LGBTQ artist from the islands of Samoa. Inspired by his rich heritage, his works revolve around cultural expression, authentic personal movement, storytelling, and honoring the lived experiences of all peoples. Underpinning all of this, he considers revealing the human aspect of art to be his lifelong goal.
