• Miyako Jōdai, who was six years old when she survived the atomic bombing of Nagasaki in 1945. Today, she continues to share her testimony through the Nagasaki Testimonial Society and was recently honored with the Akizuki Peace Prize for her lifelong dedication to peace education.
• Fumie Kakita, a second-generation survivor and Secretary-General of the Nagasaki Atomic Bomb Survivors Council. She has spent decades preserving the voices of survivors and advocating for a world free of nuclear weapons.
