8-Week Pottery Wheel Class at Erie ClaySpace
Wednesdays|August 5th- Sept 23rd | 6:00–8:00 PM

Overview:
Join us for an 8-week pottery class focused on wheel-throwing techniques—perfect for total beginners or experienced potters looking to grow. With a small class size (max 9 students), you'll get plenty of one-on-one instruction while exploring forms like cups, bowls, plates, and vases. You'll also learn trimming, glazing, and surface design as you take your pieces from start to finish.


What’s Included:

25 lbs. of clay


All tools, glazes, and firings
Access to Open Studio on Saturdays (12–2 PM)
Extra clay available for purchase

Studio Access:
Call (814) 520-5089 when you arrive to be buzzed in. Need elevator access? Let your instructor know when you call the studio so we can assist—our elevator is vintage and manually operated.

Minimum enrollment: 5 students



More Info

Each class begins with a short demo or guided work time and one-on-one instruction. Students will work through the full process from throwing and trimming to glazing. The class fee includes clay, glazes, firings, and access to Open Studio hours. Extra clay is available for purchase.


Ages 16 to adult. Class is limited to 10 students.
Prerequisite: Prior wheel experience not required.



Open Studio

Students may use Open Studio during the session on:

  • Saturdays from 12–2 pm

Open Studio is supervised, but instruction is offered during class time only.


PLEASE NOTE: We reserve the right to postpone or cancel classes that do not meet the minimum enrollment of 5 students. If a class is canceled by Erie ClaySpace, you have the option to transfer to another similar class or have your tuition refunded in full.

We handle work with care, but ceramics can be unpredictable. Flat forms especially like to keep us humble.

📦 When do I pick up my work?
Finished pieces are typically ready 2–4 weeks after the class ends. Pick-up details will be provided.
