Rap icon Eminem's feature film acting debut had him taking home Oscar gold (Best Original Song, Lose Yourself) and some serious box office green in director Curtis Hanson's (L.A. CONFIDENTIAL) thrilling, unconventional and fresh take on the underdog's-gonna-triumph drama, 8 MILE. The setting is Detroit, 1995: The 'Motor City' is divided by 8 Mile, a road that splits the town in half along racial lines. A young white rapper, Jimmy "B-Rabbit" Smith Jr., summons strength within himself to cross over these arbitrary boundaries to fulfill his dream of success - as a rapper in the world of hip hop music.
