Kids ages 15 and younger and their families are invited to come out to Ship Creek for a day of fishing, fun, and giveaways!The portion of Ship Creek from the C Street bridge upstream to The Bridge Restaurant is designated by the State of Alaska as a youth-only fishery for kids ages 15 and under from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m.
High tides for June 17 are estimated at 7:05 a.m. and 8:20 p.m. Based on the tide schedule, the best fishing will be roughly 6:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m.
Schedule:
6:00 am: Ship Creek opens for youth-only fishing.
3:00 pm: Line up along the pedestrian bridge for a group photo, gift bags and hot dogs. The line will start at The Bait Shack.
11:00 pm: Creek closes to fishing and reopens Sunday at 6 a.m. to all anglers.
This event coincides with the Slam'n Salm'n Derby, which includes a Youth class. Derby tickets must be purchase prior to fishing, and are available at The Bait Shack. Learn more about the Derby at: https://fb.me/e/qJIKrnK9b
