7th Annual Hambongui African Dance Conference

Cheza Nami Foundation in partnership with local master artist Loubayi Arnaud and the Tannery World Dance & Cultural Center (TWDCC) are excited to present the 7th annual Hâ Mbongui African Dance & Drum Conference at TWDCC in Santa Cruz California, from May 19-23, 2023, followed by the Santa Cruz installation of the Essence show, featuring the Cheza Nami ensemble and guest artists.

The conference brings together multiple master instructors from different countries in Africa & the Diaspora, including but not limited to; Congo, Guinea, Brazil, Senegal, Kenya and France. Artists give patrons an opportunity to learn and celebrate culture from visiting master artists over a 3 day period.
