Hand Up To Victory is a local 501c3 non-profit organization. Our mission is to provide safety, stability and support to those seeking recovery from substance use disorder. We provide immediate placement and temporary funding for sober transitional housing in Manatee and Sarasota County. We also provide access to basic human necessities, job connections, peer support, family intervention, weekly recovery meetings and endless amounts of encouragement.
The individuals we provide assistance to are being released from jail, detox, rehabilitation or are homeless. They have a true desire to break free from the vicious cycle of addiction, but have no one to help them and no where safe to live. Without our help these individuals will remain homeless or be forced to return to the same places around the same people they used substances with.
With our help these individuals we assist have a firm foundation to begin their recovery journey. A safe place to live free of drugs and alcohol, around others who are successful in recovery. With success the individuals we assist will be able to maintain long term recovery, restore their broken families and become fully functioning members of society.
It takes $500 to put one person completely through our program. This total includes two weeks of funding for sober living, hygiene items, food, clothing vouchers, prepaid cell phone (as needed), vouchers for replacement identification, job connections, resources, weekly recovery meetings, family intervention, peer support and endless amounts of encouragement.
Our annual fundraiser is our largest fundraiser of the year. We offer a meal. Hear testimonies from individuals who have changed their lives through the assistance we have provided and their family members. We are excited to announce our special guest speaker Mayor Gene Brown, and we have an amazing silent auction with lots of truly amazing items to win. All funds raised during our event will directly benefit those who receive our services.
