Introduction

Interested in learning more about decorated sugar cookies?! Cookies By Lalita is here to help! In this 2-hour class, we'll cover the basics to sugar cookies (so – yes, it’s beginner friendly!), do some piping practice with Royal Icing, talk about how to strategize the best ways to decorate sugar cookies, and cover the general concepts around dough and icing! Everything you'll need is provided at class along with a live in-person instructor – just bring a smile (and maybe an apron).

About this Class

This class is for the beginner cookier or for the person who is just curious about what cookie decorating is all about! If you have limited experience with sugar cookies, found yourself frustrated with royal icing, or if you're trying to have fun with family or friends, this is the class for you! We’ll be decorating a set of 6 Christmas-fun themed cookies – snag your tickets mistleto-day or end up on Santa’s naughty list “Clause” these tickets will sell out!

Our classes are for almost any age! From youngsters to grandparents - come on in and have some cookie fun with us! The minimum age to attend a class with an adult is 12. The minimum age to attend a class unaccompanied is 18. All guests must purchase a ticket to attend a class.

This class is on Wednesday, December 17th and starts at 7 sharp so we can have enough time to decorate and answer questions along the way. Come by yourself, bring your best friend, or bring the family - we have seating for up to 10 people! It's a blast whether you're coming with a friend, family member, or solo! This venue allows you to bring your own drinks (BYOB). You do not need to be 21+ to attend but if you are drinking, be prepared to show ID upon arrival.

The class will be helped at in Philadelphia, PA located at 1700 E Moyamensing Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19148. Nervous about the parking situation? Don’t be! Parking is pretty easy – you can park for free on the street for up to 2 hours.

Cancelation / Refund / Sick Policy

7+ Days Before Class:

Can't make it? Cancel for a refund up to 7 days before class.

To request a refund through Eventbrite, follow these steps:

1. Log in to Eventbrite.
2. Go to Tickets.
3. Find the order you want refunded, then select Request a refund.
4. Enter your details and submit your request. The organizer should respond within five business days.

***Select Contact the organizer if you don’t see the option to request a refund or you have a question about the status of your refund request.

Within 7 Days Of Class:

You have the option to pick up your cookies and get access to the step-by-step tutorial from class, get moved to a future class (if available) or transfer your ticket to a friend, but no refund is available.

You Don't Show Up or Email Prior To Class:

If I do not hear from you before your class’s start time, and you do not show up for class, we cannot offer a refund.

DIY / Add-On Kits

Order your sugar cookie class kit and take the class home with you to teach a child or friend! These class kits come with everything you'll use in class, and I’ll email you the class PowerPoint so you can follow our step-by-step instructions from home! Cookie Class DIY Kits are created before your class, and you'll pick them up and take them with you after class.

How long can a kit last? Depending on how you store your icing, your kits can last for a week or longer. Freezing cookies keep them fresh for a long time, but I recommend using your kit as soon as possible - ideally in the first week after you've taken it home. Cookies are heat sealed for freshness – but again, use it in under a week to make sure it tastes the best.

Allergen Disclaimer / Class Cancelation Policy / Weather Policy / Fees Disclaimer

Allergens: Heads up – these cookies include the following ingredients: flour, butter, eggs, sugar, powder sugar, vanilla, salt, merengue powder and food colorings.

Please note – these cookies are prepared in a kitchen that also bakes with common, known allergens: milk, eggs, fish, shellfish, peanuts, treenuts, wheat and soy.

Please consider your allergies before registering.

Class Cancellation Policy: Classes may be canceled at the discretion of me, the event host. This rarely happens – but in that extremely rare event that it does, you’ll receive a 100% refund including your EventBrite fees.

Classes with attendance below 6 will be canceled. Don’t be sad! You can get in on a future class with your full refund! I’ll let you know if your class has low attendance before the event is canceled so that you can bring a friend (hint hint) or find other plans for that day.

Weather Policy: Sometimes Jack Frost doesn’t play well with cookie class schedules, and Mother Nature seems to be takin’ notes. In the event of inclement weather, I’ll contact you with options – these may differ depending on the weather event, but rest assured – we’ll figure something out!

EventBrite Fees: Your ticket price includes your ticket fees; however, EventBrite does not refund its fees. If you cancel your ticket and request a refund prior to the cancelation window expiring, I’ll happily give you a refund less the EventBrite fee – since I don’t get this fee back either. EventBrite keeps it regardless of whether you show up or cancel. I know – I hate it too!
