Come volunteer with Public Archaeology Corps in Wilmington, NC! No experience necessary and all ages are welcome- even kids! Both the dig site and the lab are open Saturday for volunteering.To guarantee your volunteer spot you must register. Otherwise it is first-come-first-served as we are in tight quarters and want to keep everyone safe** Register for fieldwork or the lab at our website: publicarchaeologycorps.org
Fieldwork is downtown on Quince Alley between Water & Front streets. We start setting up around 9:30 and finish roughly 3-4 but you're welcome to come and go as needed. There's plenty to do besides actually digging if that's not your thing! ?We even need people interested in volunteering as greeters/docents as we get so many visitors to the site.
The Lab goes from 9-3 and is located at 27 N. Front St. It is the door located between The Gourmet Market and Bourbon St restaurant/bar. Please only show up to volunteer; we are not welcoming random visitors there just yet unless by special arrangement.
No fee or official/yearly membership required, although certainly appreciated! It is our members' support that allows us to continue to offer educational opportunities for free. Join us here! publicarchaeologycorps.org

*Parking not available on-site. We suggest the parking deck on Market between Front St & 2nd St or one of the City parking lots (not the private ones.) They aren't free but they are cheaper than the meters and this way you don't have to worry about adding time. Let us know if there's an accessibility issue and we'll try to accommodate*
