Rachael Gootnick, a Rochester NY book artist, has combined a formal degree in publishing with a hands-on bookbinding apprenticeship to create the bookbinding studio, Just Terrific. With an emphasis on transitional moments of our shared human experience, her work questions what is typical, by utilizing alternative sizes, forms, and materials. Rachael has a deep appreciation for physical books and the printed word, and her mission focuses on sustaining their importance in our daily lives and legacies. She is a firm believer in reducing waste and puts an emphasis on sustainability by repurposing and utilizing otherwise unloved materials.
