PRIZE FUND: $500 based on 28 U.S. Chess Federation Rated Players.
The Prize Fund will increase with more than 28 USCF rated players entering the tournament.
FORMAT: 5 Games Swiss System (No elimination). Time Control G/24;d5, recording of moves is not required. U.S.C.F. Quick rated only. Your regular U.S.C.F. rating will not change.
3 SECTIONS: PRIZES:
OPEN 1st $130, 1st U-2000 $100, 1st U-1800 $80
U-1600/Unrated USCF Members 1st $90, 1st U-1400 $60, 1st Unrated $40
Community/ Not Rated 1st place $40 in each group of 6 players by age-based rating 100 to 1300
U.S. Chess Federation Membership is available at the tournament, for the Open & Under 1600/ Unr.USCF sections.
The Community Section is only open to players who never had an Official U.S.C.F. Rating
IRREVOCABLE BYES: Two 1/2-point Byes allowed. 5th round Bye specified before round 2 pairings, rounds 1, 2 and 3 specified before those rounds start. 1/2-point Bye for round 4 specified before round 3.
CHESS SETS, and CHESS CLOCKS will be provided. However, if you have a set, you would rather use, you may substitute your equipment for any round with the approval of the player of the black pieces for that pairing.
ADVANCE REGISTRATION AND PAYMENT OPTIONS:
1) Send REGISTRATION FORM and CHECK payable to W.M.C.A by U.S. mail to: ED KOSTREBA, 45 FAIRVIEW ST., PALMER, MA 01069, postmarked by Monday May 25th.
2) PayPal or VENMO to [email protected] (must include Registration Form information as a note during electronic payment, or via e-mail, or phone text message) by Thursday May 28th.
3) NEW Online Registration with a CREDIT or DEBIT card at www.wmass-chess.us by May 28th. You can see advance registrations at the top of your online registration form by clicking the blue number next to "Players."
ADVANCE ENTRY FEE: USCF Rated players $25 by Check, or $26 by VENMO, PAYPAL, CREDIT OR DEBIT.
Unrated U.S.C.F. Members $5. Community players $10
AT SITE REGISTRATION: Saturday 8:45am – 9:15am
AT SITE ENTRY FEE (Check or Cash): Rated players $30, Unrated players, $10. Community players $15
W.M.C.A. & M.A.C.A. MEMBER DISCOUNTS: $5 off. WMCA WEBSITE: www.wmass-chess.us
ROUND TIMES: 10:00am, 11:30am, 1:15pm, 2:30pm, 4:00pm
WMCA MEMBERSHIP: $15 per year NOT required. It includes the 18th WMCA Free tournament
(USCF Membership required), and $5 off at WMCA tournaments, including this one, and voting rights.
