We are going; going again just as NASA plans to go back to the moon. But for us, our mission is far greater than anyone anticipated. This JUNE, history will repeat itself as we welcome you all to the prodigious and colossal gathering of all the genius minds of Bangladesh in the "6th National Earth and Space Summit''.
From June 8-10,
Notre Dame College premises will bear the witness for exaltation of the plethora of enkindled minds who want to prove their worth blazing their astronomical flair or bespeaking their ecological forte. Embark on this three-day-long hectic journey to unveil your talents or get to learn more about our origin, evolution, and future on the aggrandized scale of the high school level. So what are you waiting for? Welcome aboard!

Timeline: June 08-10, 2023
Venue: Notre Dame College, Dhaka
The campus ambassadors will facilitate offline registrations.

Participating Categories:
i) Primary-P (Nursery-Class 5)
ii) Junior-J (Classes 6-8)
iii) Secondary-S (Classes 9-10; SSC 23; O levels)
iv) Higher Secondary- HS (Classes 11-12; HSC 22; A Levels)
v) Open for all- O (including University)

# Solo Events:-
Details for each segment will be announced with the segment posts.
•Astronomy Olympiad:
The participants have to answer a number of comprehensive questions based on Astronomy. The questions will be both in conceptual multiple-choice format and mathematical problem-solving type.
Eligible category: J,S,HS.
•Biology Olympiad:
Do you have a great knack for Biology? Are you tempted to be called the best Botanist or best Zoologist or furthermore the best Biologist among numerous competitors? If you are, then this segment is calling you out to take your place. This Olympiad will have multiple choice questions on the very depths of Biology, much like the contemporary competitive exam pattern.
Eligible category: S,HS.
•Earth Science Olympiad:
The Earth Science Olympiad will have multiple-choice questions to evaluate the participants' learning, conceptions, and analytical capabilities about Earth and Environment.
Eligible category: J,S.
•Oceanography Olympiad:
Our oceans comprise about 71 percent of Earth's surface. Do you know something about marine life, its ecosystem, and how it regulates our Earth's climate and our livelihoods? If you do, you can show your innate talent here in a multiple-choice-based olympiad that calls your passion.

•Sci-Fi Story Writing:
Reveal your writing mastery in our "SCI-FI STORY WRITING" by depicting the most fascinating and relevant short sci-fi story based on Astronomy or Space within 700 words in Bangla or English. It will be an online event, and all submissions will be taken via e-mail as a PDF file. It has to be sent to [email protected]

•Star Mapping:
In this segment, participants will be provided with a sky map. They will have to match the pattern and identify the marked constellations and stars.
Eligible category: S, HS.
•Scrapbook:
Get your scissors and inks ready to give your genius imagination a creative form of the most alluring scrapbook. Bring out the best in you and amaze our visitors with your most beautiful creation.
Eligible category: O
Theme- Anything related to Earth and Astronomy.
•Guess the Scientist:
It is a solo event only for the Junior category. Participants will be given a set of clues, pictures, scientific works, and contributions of different renowned scientists of the world. They will be required to guess the name of the scientists analyzing the given information.
Eligible category: J.
•Children's Craftwork:
It is a signature event for our little participants on the premises. Participants of the Primary category from Nursery to Class-4 will be eligible for this fancy event. There are no fixed rules or limitations, just walk in with your materials and create whatever you like.

Subcategories- i) Nursery, KG ii) Class 1-2 iii) Class 3-5
• Astronomy-Ecology-Based Extempore Speech:
Each participant will be given a specific topic 1 minute prior to his/her speech based on an unbiased selection. He/She will get 2 minutes to deliver, 1 minute in favour of the topic and 1 minute against. The speech could be in Bangla or English. However, it is recommended to stick to either one of the mentioned languages.

•Eco and Astro Talks :
Two talk shows, one on Ecology and the other on Astronomy, will be conducted each on the two days of the fest respectively, by prominent professionals and mentors of the country. So don't miss out on the opportunity to attend these wonderful sessions and expand your knowledge. Moreover, you can ask your queries to the respective guests in an open question-answering session right after the talks.

•Photosphere 3.0:
Our signature photography event and exhibition will include the following segments:
••Eco Photosphere
••Astro Photosphere
••Digital Art:
This is an online event, and the art must be based on Astronomy or Ecology. Participants have to submit their raw file of design via mail. It has to be sent to [email protected]

••Midjourney Art:
Use your prompting skills in the Midjourney AI bot to produce Eco and Astro artwork and submit your design to us via mail. This is a solo event; participants must mention the prompt they used along with their design. It has to be sent to [email protected]

•Videography:
It's an online event where the participants will submit a short video to us via email. The theme and topic of the video must be associated with Ecology or Astronomy. The video can be of maximum 5 minutes and has to be sent to [email protected]

# Team Events:-
Details for each segment will be announced with the segment posts.
•Wall Magazine:
The teams will prepare a wall magazine on anything related to Earth or Astronomy and submit it on the first day of the carnival. The participants will present their ideas before the honorable judges during the exhibition session.
Eligible category: J,S,HS.
•Astral Hunt:
Showcase your detective skills by using your knowledge of Astronomy. Collect different clues and connect the dots by using your creativity to reach the final destination that awaits you.
This is a team-based event. Each team will have 4 members. It's an open for all segment; participants of any background will be able to participate in which all of them will have one round to participate in a short quiz of riddles. Among them, the top five teams will be selected for the ultimate task. Using their intellect and problem-solving skills, they have to complete their ultimate task. The ultimate task will remain a secret until they crack it. The team that finishes the task first will be the winner.

N.B: Students of Notre Dame College cannot participate in this event.
•Powerpoint Presentation:
The contestants have to create a Powerpoint presentation on specific topics related to Earth or Astronomy. The judgment will be based on the quality of the slides. This event will have two rounds. The first round will be a submission round, and selected teams will go for the final round.

•Eco And Space Buzz:
Youthful contestants collaborate for one of the vastest quizzing competitions, the Eco and Space Buzz. The event will be completed in two rounds, the preliminaries, and the finals. 6-8 teams will be allowed for the Final Round.

•GreenTech Showcasing:
Prepare to be amazed as you immerse yourself in a captivating array of projects that demonstrate how green technology is making a real difference in addressing pressing environmental challenges.
GreenTech Showcase is an exciting project-display-event where the participants will showcase how green technology is revolutionizing the way we care for our planet! This event will highlight innovative solutions that harness the power of green technology to create a better and more sustainable Earth.
Eligible category: J,S,HS.
Topic: Anything about earth and environment
•Astro Craft Design and Showcasing:
At this one-of-a-kind event, you'll have the opportunity to see an array of meticulously crafted Mastercraft models up close, ranging from scale replicas of iconic space shuttles and rockets to cutting-edge spacecraft designs that are currently pushing the boundaries of human exploration. You can also come up with any kind of space-related model with the touch of your creativity.
But that's not all! Our Rovers Display will also be a highlight of the event, showcasing a variety of rovers that are used in space exploration missions. From the legendary Mars rovers to the latest lunar and planetary rovers, you'll get a chance to see these impressive machines that have been instrumental in expanding our understanding of the universe.

•Astro-Movie Quiz: For all the Astro-cinephiles out there, NDESC presents to you the "ASTRO-MOVIE QUIZ," where you will stand a chance to showcase your skillful enthusiasm through this quiz based on movies.
