6th Annual GTC 2024 One-day Summit “Bridging Borders: Cultivating Global Learning Places” (Virtual )

Join us for the 6th Annual GTC 2024 One-day Summit on November 19th, where educators from around the globe will gather to explore the innovation in international education. This exciting event will take place VIRTUALLY on behalf of the Drexel University School of Education in Philadelphia, PA, USA. Get ready to engage in thought-provoking discussions, interactive workshops, and networking opportunities with like-minded professionals.

This summit's agenda will be posted on the Drexel University GTC Website. The summit program presenters will share a comprehensive framework for reviewing global teaching technology and curriculum tools, while emphasizing the importance of adapting teaching practices for global learning places. The proceedings include keynote speeches, panel discussions, workshops, and interactive sessions to facilitate learning, collaboration, and the sharing of best practices among educators.

All registered participants will receive the Zoom link and password for the summit by November 15, 2024. During International Education Week the recorded version of the summit will be available via Youtube Streaming! More information about access will be shared during the summit.

6th Global Teach Connect Summit Agenda

The 6th Annual GTC 2024 Summit’s focuses is “Bridging Borders: Cultivating Global Learning Places” and is specifically tailored to improving global teaching practices and teachers’ skills for learning environments. This theme encapsulates the emphasis on fostering cross-cultural understanding, promoting global perspectives, and preparing educators, students and community stakeholders for an interconnected world. It highlights the importance of integrating global competence beyond classroom borders to include community engagement and stakeholders to support the capacity for responsible global engagement in a connected world. This theme encourages exploration of innovative approaches, educational technology practices, and challenges in developing individuals who are equipped to navigate diverse cultural landscapes and contribute to a globally competent society.

The summit will occur during International Education Week on Drexel University’s campus and online via Zoom Webinar. This summit provides a comprehensive framework for reviewing global teaching technology and curriculum tools, while emphasizing the importance of adapting teaching practices in learning places in a globalized world. 6th GTC Summit Presentation, Panel, and Workshop Sub-Themes/Focus Areas

1. Perception and Practice: Navigating Global Competencies in Teacher Education

This theme focuses on exploring the perceptions of educators and students regarding global competencies in teacher education program design. It encourages discussions on effective strategies, challenges, and opportunities for integrating global perspectives into curriculum development, pedagogy, and assessment.

2. Global Perspectives, Professional Growth: Embracing Global Teaching

This theme emphasizes the significance of global teaching competencies in professional development. It invites educators and educational leaders to share insights, experiences, and best practices in fostering global awareness, intercultural communication, and cross-cultural competence among teaching professionals.

3. Beyond Borders: Implementing Global Competencies in K-12 Education

This theme delves into the perceptions and experiences of teacher education professors, teachers, and educational leaders regarding the implementation of global competencies in K-12 education. It explores innovative approaches, challenges, and successes in integrating global perspectives, global citizenship education, and global competencies into K-12 curriculum, instruction, and school culture.

4. Global Learning Places: Shaping the Future Workforce

This theme examines the perceived association between global competencies and the workforce of the future. It invites discussions on the skills, knowledge, and dispositions needed to thrive in a globalized world and explores how education can prepare students for success in diverse workplaces, industries, and global contexts.

“Embracing Diversity: Cultivating Engaged Learning in Multicultural Spaces”

A workshop to encourage engaged learning pedagogical approaches that incorporate inclusive multiculturalism to address learner diversity.
