Join us for the 6th Annual Community Gathering: Energy of Life - a vibrant, heart-centered celebration of healing, culture, and community transformation.
This gathering began in response to the loss and erasure of Carlota Espinoza’s mural at Escuela Tlatelolco, and has since evolved into an annual offering of remembrance, resilience, and reconnection.
This year, we celebrate the Phase 1 fundraising milestone that was reached last year and will discuss what is happening with Phase 2 this year!
Enjoy Interactive arts experiences and a community fundraiser — rooted in joy, storytelling, and cross-cultural connection.
🎭 What to Expect
🌿 Sacred Opening Ceremony Experience a traditional honoring with Grupo Tlaloc, grounding us in ancestral wisdom and community connection.
🖼️ Legacy & Storytelling Hear the story behind Carlota Espinoza’s mural, its erasure, and the movement it inspired. Learn about the upcoming Energy of Life art installation rooted in Escuela Tlatelolco’s legacy.
🍽️ Food, Music & Community Enjoy a shared meal with music and explore tables featuring local artists, many who are former Escuela Tlatelolco students & staff.
🎤 Speakers & Art Presentation Reflections from Escuela community members and a preview of the Energy of Life installation by artist David Ocelotl García, followed by a tour of the installation site.
🌀 Community Writing Prompt & Circle Led by Neena Expressions, this reflective activity invites you to write, speak, or share your voice in shaping the installation’s shared meaning. All guests receive a journal as a keepsake.
🧃 Craft cocktails available for purchase, with proceeds supporting Nurture Denver.
