The 6th Annual “Momma I Don’t Want to Go to College” Skills & Trades Career Expo is a free community event designed to help students, families, and adults explore alternative pathways to career success beyond the traditional four-year college route.
The expo introduces attendees to skilled trades, apprenticeship programs, community college pathways, industry certifications, and workforce training opportunities that can lead to stable, high-demand careers. Participants will have the opportunity to connect with employers, training providers, workforce organizations, and educational institutions offering information about career pathways, job opportunities, and training programs.
The event is intended for a wide range of attendees including elementary and middle school students exploring career possibilities, high school students preparing for life after graduation, young adults considering career pathways, adults interested in career changes, and parents who want to support their children’s career decisions.
Families are encouraged to attend together to learn about career options such as skilled trades, apprenticeships, community college programs, and certification-based careers.
The goal of the event is to increase awareness of workforce development opportunities and help individuals discover pathways to economic mobility and meaningful careers.
This event is hosted by Momma I Don’t Want to Go to College, Inc., a Charlotte-based nonprofit organization focused on expanding career awareness and access to workforce opportunities for youth and adults in the community.
