6CPS APRIL DESTRING & FLOCK WELLNESS MEET

Our Six Counties Pigeon Support meet up for April will be held on the 25th. This is your chance to meet other pigeon loving folk and see our experienced destringers and rehabbers in action.
The aim of this meet is to educate people on ways they can help their local feral flocks, what to look out for when it comes to their health and the basics of destringing.
Going forward we plan to have a little bit more structure , with guidelines for attendees to follow and also educational materials to read. All being well these will be provided prior to the meet.
We don't want anyone rushing into any aspect of destringing before they are equipped. this will safe guard not only you by also the pigeons.

✨ Guidelines ✨

• Refrain from feeding pigeons until given the go ahead by the designated demo leaders.

• Only feed the minimum needed to attract the pigeons to avoid them filling up too fast, being too spread out or creating mess that may draw too much attention or potential fines.

• Avoid feeding on surfaces people sit on.

• Unless attempting to catch them yourself, stop all feeding once a pigeon is identified as needing help as this will aid in capture.

• When someone is attempting to catch a pigeon, please be mindful of your movement and noise as to not spook the flock. Try to keep distance between you and the target pigeon / flock if not involved in the capture.

• Remain civil and respectful to the public.
