67 Blankets for Nelson Mandela Day, founded by social entrepreneur Carolyn Steyn, encourages people across the world to knit or crochet blankets to keep needy people warm, in honour of Madiba, and linking in with Nelson Mandela Day and the 67 Minutes initiative, driven by The Nelson Mandela Foundation.Holy Family College will proudly be hosting 67 Blankets for Nelson Mandela Day on 10 June at 11:00. We would like to encourage Holy Family College parents and families, and surrounding schools, to participate in this wonderful event by knitting a blanket, donating wool, or contributing toward wool.
The size of the blanket should be 120cm x 150cm or 160cm x 180cm OR if knitting squares, 20cm x 20cm or 40cm x 40cm - double knit or charity wool.
