Festival in the Park, one of Charlotte's longest-running and best-loved community traditions, opens on the third Friday after Labor Day in September and runs through Sunday. Since 1964, Festival in the Park has been bringing good music, good art and good times to Charlotteans and visitors from around the world. Festival in the Park is a lively and inviting celebration of the things that make Charlotte so special - its unique heritage, its strong sense of community and the accomplished artists and performers who add so much to the city's exceptional quality of life. The three-day event is so popular that it has become a September tradition, drawing more than 85,000 visitors each year to Freedom Park, in the heart of the historic Dilworth neighborhood.
