60 Works 60 Years Exhibit Tour for TOAF61

Join Flavio Belli, Curator, Artist and TOAF’s long-term friend for an insightful and engaging tour of 60 Works / 60 Years on Thursday May 26 at The Market Gallery.

This show is a unique presentation of every Mayor’s Purchase Award Recipients since 1979 co-presented by Toronto Outdoor Art Fair and the Market Gallery. It is a fascinating perspective on the evolving landscape of Toronto over the past decades through the eyes of the artists. Neil and Flavio will be sharing the vision behind the collection and stories about the early days of TOAF.

The Mayor's Purchase Award at the annual Toronto Outdoor Art Fair is an important moment for the collection. Each year the Mayor, assisted by City curators, selects a work to be brought into the municipal collection from the fair. This is an excellent opportunity to purchase works from new and emerging artists and enrich the collection with diverse perspectives. The exhibition also features the works by the 2021 recipient of the Mayor's Purchase Award, Vanessa Dion Fletcher.
