Beyond the Lean-to
A 60 Squadron Reunion for Member Years 1970-1989
4-6 Sept. 2026, Charlottetown, PE
Our organizing is now complete, and we are excited to share our plans with you! Come celebrate the 85th Anniversary of 60 Air Cadet Squadron with former cadets and officers, and our guest of honour, Mrs. Carrie Costain. We especially encourage spouses and partners to come and be part of the fun at this reunion! There will be lots to do, but please feel free to attend the amount of events that feels right for you.
Friday evening 7-10 pm: Meet and Greet at The Local - 202 Buchanan Drive, Charlottetown. Private room with cash bar and food service.
• Slide show of 70’s and 80’s 60 Sqn. photos;
• Background 70’s and 80’s music while you catch up with friends;
Saturday 10 am onward - Cadet Reunion Day at the Benevolent Irish Society Hall - 582 North River Road, Charlottetown. This will be our reunion HQ with some offsite activities taking place Saturday and/or Sunday.
• Activities to refresh our Air Cadet skills;
• Memorabilia display;
• Live drill display by current 60 Squadron cadets;
• Saturday night potluck supper and social evening at the Hall;
• Static aircraft display (CH-146 Griffon) through Dept. of National Defense and 403 Hel Operational Training Squadron (subject to operational availability);
• Visit to St. Jean’s school - old 60 Sqn. HQ, and to the new HQ at the Armoury;
• Private tour of the local Regimental Museum;
• Nature hike (weather permitting);
• Beach afternoon (weather premitting);
• Campfire get-together (weather permitting);
How you can participate:
• Dust off those old cadet photo albums and send us some of your favourite pictures! Please email your photos in JPEG format to Greg MacDougall at: [email protected] . There is a 25 MEG limit per email;
• Send your song requests to Kimberlee Trainor at [email protected] so that we can create a playlist from the 70’s/80’s era;
• Bring some memorabilia items to add to the memorabilia display;
• Volunteer at the event (more info. to follow later on volunteer opportunities)
How to register:
We require a deposit of $30 per person by June 15 to confirm our attendee numbers, and to cover the cost of the venues we are renting. Registration is a 2 step process, to maintain secure and confidential payment.
• Step 1 - Email Kimberlee at [email protected] with your names and the number coming (1 or 2).
• Step 2 - You will receive a reply with instructions on how to send an e-transfer to our CIBC non-profit Air Cadet Reunion bank account. This account has been set up and is being managed by Deneen Ferguson, our planning group Treasurer, who has 36 years of banking industry experience with CIBC. The account is set up for auto-deposit for convenience and security, so that passwords aren’t required.
There will likely be an additional cost to cover expenses, and we will calculate that once we confirm our numbers and final costs. This will be paid later and will not be more than an additional $20 per person. We are aiming to keep costs down and this event affordable for all.
Questions?
Please reach out to Kimberlee at [email protected]
Please spread the word (and this invitation) to your cadet friends. Thanks and looking forward to seeing you this September!
